About This Call
The 28th Bethesda Row Arts Festival takes place Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026, across five blocks of Bethesda, Maryland, centered at 4801 Bethesda Ave. The festival attracts over 30,000 high-income art enthusiasts from the Washington, DC Metro Area and surrounding suburbs. The three-mile radius surrounding the festival has an average household income of $196,910. The festival is recognized as one of the country's premier art events and is not recommended for artists who have not shown at similar outdoor fine arts events.
Applications open January 15, 2026, with a deadline of April 30, 2026. The $65 non-refundable application fee includes submission of four digital images of artwork and one image of your booth or sales display. A panel of three paid art professionals, including at least one working artist, will review applications using a 1-5 rating scale. Approximately 180 top applicants will receive invitations on June 1, 2026, with two weeks to confirm participation. Booth fees are $680 for a 10' x 10' space, with a limited number of 10' x 20' double spaces available at $1,300. Waitlisted artists will be invited on June 15, 2026, on a first-paid basis.
Artists can submit work in 16 categories: Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing, Fiber—Decorative, Fiber—Wearable, Glass, Graphics/Printmaking, Jewelry, Metalwork, Mixed Media 2D, Mixed Media 3D, Oil/Acrylic, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, and Wood. Best of Show awards $2,500, Second Place $1,250, and Third Place $750. Category winners receive jury exemption for the 2027 show. Show hours are 10:00am-6:00pm Saturday and 10:00am-5:00pm Sunday. Load-in begins at 4:00am Saturday with assigned drive-up times. Police detail provides 24-hour security. Snacks, beverages, and portajohns are provided on-site.
