About This Call
Best of the Gorge is an exhibition celebrating the Columbia River Gorge region, featuring verdant vineyards and orchards on the Oregon side below Mt. Hood, and golden agricultural fields against the Ponderosa pine forests of Mt. Adams on the Washington side. The Gorge encompasses stunning natural beauty alongside human transportation and commerce, volcanic cliffs, wind farms, windsurfers, fisheries, and a farm-to-fork community. Artists are asked to directly address their connection to place by submitting their best work about the Gorge. Conceptual, new media, experimental, traditional, representational, and folk art in all mediums and intentions are welcome.
The Gorge Area is geographically defined as the area between and including: Goldendale WA to the north, Warm Springs OR to the south, Cascade Locks OR/Stevenson WA to the west, and Biggs OR/Wishram WA to the east. The exhibition will be juried by Linda Tesner, Gallery Director of the Ronna and Eric Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR.
Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must include 1-6 images. The exhibition runs July 1-31, 2016. Eligibility is limited to local artists.
