Best of the East Coast - 2023

Best of the East Coast 2023 is a juried visual art exhibition at 311 Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The exhibition runs September 1-29, 2023, with an opening reception on September 1st from 6-9pm. This exhibition seeks to showcase a wide range of work by emerging and established artists, highlighting unique styles of artists within the East Coast region.

Works of any physical medium are eligible, including 2D and 3D art such as painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. Audio and video submissions are not accepted. Works must be for sale and cannot exceed 72 inches in any dimension unless otherwise permitted by staff. Digital or photographic works will be accepted as editioned or non-editioned prints; the gallery offers in-house gicleé printing services for an additional fee. Works are accepted on a piece-by-piece basis due to space limitations. All United States artists on the East Coast or neighboring states are eligible.

Entry fee is $25 for the first work and $5 per additional work, with a maximum of $50 for up to 6 total submissions. Jurors will review JPEG images (one per work; 3D submissions may include collage-style photos showing multiple angles). Artists will be notified of acceptance status approximately 3-5 days after the August 7th, 2023 deadline. If accepted, works must be hand-delivered or mailed to the gallery by August 26-27, 2023. The commission rate is 60% artist, 40% gallery, with payment mailed approximately 30 days after sale. Best in show and audience choice prizes include a $200 value print package from the gallery's printing studio.
