About This Call
The Best of South Coast Artists Exhibition kicks off the New Bedford Art Museum's 30th anniversary celebration, honoring the region's artistic excellence and heritage while championing artists of all backgrounds who create in the SouthCoast.
The exhibition runs from June 6 to August 24, 2025, with an open reception on June 12, 2025. Juror Carmen Hermo, incoming Lorraine and Alan Bressler Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, will select works. Artists will be notified of acceptance on March 16-17, 2025. Cash prizes include $1,000 for first place and $500 for second place.
Eligibility is limited to artists who are residents of the Massachusetts and Rhode Island South Coast region. All work must be original and created by the applicant. Both 2D and 3D works are accepted with no size restrictions. Work must arrive ready to hang but framing is not required; magnets, clips, and other methods can be used. Entry fee is $40 for 5 images, with an additional $5 per image for up to 10 total images. Submit 5-10 images of your work.
