Best in Show

The Moses Lake Museum & Art Center invites artists to submit pet-themed artwork portraying domesticated and non-domesticated creatures that occupy our homes and our hearts. The competition seeks artworks reflecting the diversity of living creatures that humans keep as pets, exploring how the role of pets has evolved from wild animals to beloved family members.

Eligibility is open to artists living or working in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho who are 18 years or older. No works previously shown at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center will be considered. Artists may submit in any media except video or large installations, including acrylic, ceramic, drawing, fiber, glass, metal, mixed media, non-traditional materials, oil, photography, print, watercolor, and wood. The submission fee is $20 ($18 for current Museum Members with coupon code). Submissions must include 1-4 images.

Accepted artworks must be delivered by Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 5pm and will remain on display through Saturday, March 9, 2019. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. The museum will charge a 30% commission on gallery sales and will process payment for the remaining 70% within 30 days of purchase or close of exhibit. Insurance coverage is provided during exhibition dates at 70% of listed retail price. Artists must arrange pickup or return shipment by Saturday, March 9, 2019. Artwork not claimed by the day following the exhibition closing date may be deemed donated to the museum under RCW 63.26.
