About This Call
Being There: Black and White Photography is an exhibition featuring original photographs in black and white format. The exhibition runs from March 31 to May 4, 2019, at Wayne Art Center, 413 Maplewood Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087. Artists from PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD, and Washington, DC, are eligible to submit up to four original photographs created between January 1, 2016, and the submission deadline. The entry fee is $45 for up to four photographs. All images should be at least 300 dpi resolution.
The juror is Laurie Beck Peterson, a commercial photographer and non-silver printmaker based in Philadelphia. Prizes totaling $2,000 will be awarded and presented at the Opening Reception on Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 3-5 pm. Notification of accepted or declined work will be sent via email on Friday, February 22, 2019.
All accepted work must be hand-delivered to Wayne Art Center on Friday, March 22 (9am-7pm) or Saturday, March 23 (9am-4pm). No shipped work will be accepted. Artwork must remain on display throughout the exhibition duration. All work must be for sale with prices identified on the entry application remaining constant throughout the exhibition. Wayne Art Center will retain 40% commission on sales. Work retrieval is available Saturday, May 4 (4-5pm), Monday, May 6 (9am-5pm), or Tuesday, May 7 (9am-5pm). Wayne Art Center provides insurance coverage for work on its premises at 60% of retail value but cannot assume liability for loss or damage in transit.
