About This Call
Being Seen 2025 is a regional juried exhibition open to artists 18+ living in Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The exhibition will be held at TAG/The Artists Gallery, 501 N Market St., Frederick, MD from February 28 to March 30, 2025, with a reception on Saturday, March 1, 5-8 PM. Juror: Zoë Charlton, Full Professor and Director of the School of Art at George Mason University.
Eligible works include original paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media (including digital collage and manipulations), photographs (analog and digital), and sculpture created within the last three years. NO reproductions, videos, or work previously shown at TAG/The Artists Gallery will be accepted. Wall-hung work including frame may not exceed 48" in any direction and 6" in depth, with a maximum weight of 30 lbs. Floor sculpture has a maximum width or depth of 30 inches, height of 72 inches, and weight of 50 lbs. Sculpture on pedestals must fit on an 18" x 18" pedestal with height no more than 30 inches. All wall-hung work must be framed and ready to hang with securely attached wires or cleat system (no sawtooth hangers). No work may be suspended from the ceiling.
Entry fee is $35 for one work, $5 for each additional work (up to 3 total). Submit 1-3 JPEG images (72dpi, 600-1200 pixels, maximum 5MB each) labeled as: LastName_FirstName_Title.jpg. Application deadline is January 5, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Applicants will be notified by January 27, 2025. Awards: First Prize $500, Second Prize $250, Third Prize $125, and three Honorable Mentions at $50 each. Hand-delivery of accepted work is required February 21-23, 2025. Pick-up dates are March 30 - April 1, 2025. TAG/The Artists Gallery receives 30% commission on sales. All work must be for sale. Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork.
