About This Call
Being Seen is a regional juried exhibition open to artists 18+ years of age living in Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The exhibition will be held at TAG/The Artists Gallery, 501 N Market St., Frederick, MD from March 3-26, 2023, with a reception on Saturday, March 4, 5-8 PM. Artwork will be shown in the gallery and posted online.
Eligible works include original paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media (including original works of digital collage and manipulations), photographs (both analog and digital formats), and sculpture created within the last three years. Reproductions of pre-existing artwork and videos are not accepted. Work must not have been previously shown at TAG/The Artists Gallery. Wall-hung work including frame may not exceed 48" in any direction and no more than 6" in depth, with a maximum weight of 30 lbs. Floor sculpture has a maximum width or depth of 30 inches, height of 72 inches, and maximum weight of 50 lbs. Sculpture on a pedestal must fit on an 18" x 18" pedestal with a height of no more than 30 inches.
Entry fee is $35 for one work, with a $5 media fee for each additional work up to 3 works total. Entries must be submitted electronically in JPEG format (72dpi, 600-1200 pixels, maximum 5MB file size). The juror is Craig Allen Subler. Awards include First Prize $500, Second Prize $250, Third Prize $125, and three Honorable Mentions of $50 each. Artists will be notified of the juror's decision by February 2. Accepted work must be hand-delivered February 24-26, 2023. Work must be picked up March 26-28, 2023. TAG/The Artists Gallery receives 30% commission on work sold. Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork.
