Bear Gallery 2022 Exhibition

Fairbanks Arts Association invites artists, artisans, and curators from Alaska to submit a digital portfolio of artwork for solo, curated, or group exhibition in the Bear Gallery for the 2022 exhibition year. Every month, the Bear Gallery shows two fine arts exhibitions by Alaskan artists/artist groups working in a variety of media. Exhibition types include: Solo Exhibit (one artist), Group (separate works of two or more artists), and Curated (curator selects theme, conceptual focus, and included artwork).

Eligibility is open to Alaska residents ages 18 or older. An individual artist or group of artists may have an exhibition in the Bear Gallery once every four years. Artists and/or groups who have had an exhibition prior to 2018 are eligible for consideration this year (curated exhibits are not subject to this policy). Artists may submit only one solo proposal. Group proposals consisting of a juried component, a call for entry, or an exhibit entry fee cannot be submitted for portfolio review. Curated and group exhibits must have an organizing representative.

Portfolio submissions must include 5 to 10 images of work completed in the last 5 years (group exhibits of more than 5 artists: two images of each artist's work will be accepted), an artist resume not to exceed two pages, and a brief artist statement or statement of exhibit intent. Up to three video files may be uploaded. Entry fee is $35.00 for non-members or $30.00 for current Fairbanks Arts Association members (contact [email protected] for member coupon code).
