Baxter St at the Camera Club of New York 2015 Juried Photography Competition

Baxter St at the Camera Club of New York (CCNY) invites applications for its Annual Juried Photography Competition. Photographers and photo-based artists working in any genre are eligible to apply. Applicants must be U.S. residents 18 years or older and active members of BAXTER ST at CCNY at the one-year Individual Membership level. BAXTER ST at CCNY staff, Board members, workspace fellows, artists-in-residence, and their families are not eligible. Only photographs or photo-based work will be considered. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a cohesive body of work.

The application fee is $48, which includes the Individual Membership at $40 and covers submission of 6-10 images. Each applicant may submit between six to ten images for consideration. An optional Artist Statement (200 words or less) and one-page resume are encouraged. Selected applicants will be featured in an exhibition at BAXTER ST at CCNY in August or September 2015 and on the organization's website. The first place selection will receive a $500 cash award. Winners and honorable mentions will also be featured on the BAXTER ST at CCNY website. Sales will be encouraged, with a 30% commission applying to all sales. All work must be framed and ready for hanging. Finalists will be notified in late June.

The juror is Marvin Heiferman, a curator and writer who organizes projects about photography and visual culture for institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, Smithsonian Institution, International Center of Photography, Whitney Museum of American Art, and New Museum.
