About This Call

Baton Rouge Gallery is a professional, non-profit, contemporary art gallery and contemporary art center founded in 1966. The gallery's Exhibiting Artist roster includes more than 75 artists working in a wide array of media. Exhibiting Artists have a strong voice in organizational decisions, including which special exhibitions to host and which artists are invited to join the gallery.

To apply for BRG Exhibiting Artist membership, submit 10-20 images of your work in .jpg, .pdf, .mov, or .mp4 format (minimum 300 dpi, at least 5 inches on the shortest side), along with a resume/CV, bio, and artist statement as separate .doc or .pdf files via email to [email protected]. Include a $5 processing fee. The selection process involves two rounds: round one evaluates digital applications, and artists advancing to round two must deliver two physical works to the gallery for in-person review. Applicants will be notified by September 10, 2025 of round one results.

All artists over 18 are eligible to apply. Applicants must be at least two years removed from schooling, and no student work or work executed under other supervision should be submitted. Applicants should be able to prove residency in Louisiana or explain their relationship to Louisiana or Baton Rouge in an accompanying statement. Applicants will be evaluated on quality and consistency of craftsmanship, ability to maintain a consistent conceptual focus within a body of work, professional representation of work and CV, and professional experience. Baton Rouge Gallery provides equal opportunity for consideration regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, or veteran status, and will provide reasonable accommodations for artists with disabilities.
