Bass River Press Cover Art Competition 2020

Bass River Press invites submissions of original artwork for the cover of "From the Farther Shore: Discovering Cape Cod and the Islands Through Poetry," a poetry anthology to be published and distributed by Bass River Press.

Art submissions may be either vertical or horizontal in orientation. All media are accepted, including painting, drawing, photography, and photographs of three-dimensional works. Submissions should be suggestive of the history, people, place, and spirit of Cape Cod and the Islands, not necessarily representational. A maximum of 20 submissions per artist is allowed. Entry fee is $15 for the first piece and $5 for each additional piece.

The winning artwork will be featured on the cover of the publication. The artist will retain ownership of the original work, but Bass River Press will possess copyright of the artwork for limited use including publicity purposes, cover design, and future editions. The winning artist will receive a cash prize of $200 and two complimentary copies of the publication upon release in 2021. The submission deadline is October 1, 2020.
