About This Call

PUNCH Projects presents Barnstorm at Bluestone Garage, a free two-day art event transforming the rustic Model KE building in Ellensburg's SODO district into an exhibition featuring works through projections and digital prints gathered from an international call to artists. Building on a 10-year history of successful art exhibitions and projects across the Northwest, Barnstorm is a series of pop-up exhibitions activating rural spaces in unexpected ways with art, music and creative installations.

All forms of media are accepted. You may submit a total of 10 image files, 6 video files, 6 audio files or a combination of file types not to exceed 10 in total. Selected artists will provide high-resolution digital image or video files; large format prints will be created from the files and hung in the space. Video works will be displayed via monitors and projections directly onto the interior and exterior walls of the building. Each accepted artist (except video and audio) will receive a large format print of their work. PUNCH will pay the cost of shipping prints to artists after the exhibition closes and will direct any sales inquiries to the artist.

Entry fee is $15 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. The submission deadline is March 5, 2017 at 10pm Pacific Time Zone. Accepted artists will be notified March 12, with a deadline of March 19 to receive high-resolution images and videos from accepted artists. The exhibition opens April 7 (5pm-10pm) and continues April 8 (noon-4pm). There is no theme to the call; however, submissions considering how a work might speak to the dialogue between urban and rural sensibilities, as well as images and videos that might operate in a non-traditional exhibition space, are encouraged. All submissions will be considered for subsequent PUNCH Projects events.
