About This Call
PUNCH Projects presents Barnstorm, a series of pop-up exhibitions activating rural spaces with visual art, site-specific installations, and music. This fourth iteration transforms the original Thorp fire station into an exhibition space highlighting works in all media through projections and digital prints. The exhibition is juried by Joanna Garner, Senior Story Creative Director at Meow Wolf.
No original works need to be shipped. Accepted artists will provide high-resolution digital image or video files of their chosen work(s). Images will be printed and framed 12"x12" by PUNCH Projects for exhibition. Video works will be displayed via monitors and projections on the interior and exterior walls. All selected works will be cropped to square format for the print exhibition. Prints will be considered "unique and limited edition" and priced at $200 each, with artists receiving 50% of sales. Every participating artist will receive either a print of their work or $100. Video and audio works are for exhibition only, not for sale. PUNCH will pay shipping costs for unsold prints after the exhibition closes.
Submissions may include photo-based works, photos of 2-d artwork, photos of installation, new media, sculpture, or other 3-d work, and photo stills from video works. Video clips, full-length video works, and audio works are welcome. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Media requirements: maximum 10 images, 3 video files, and 3 audio files. Awards include $500 Juror's Choice Award, $500 Punch Choice Award, and $500 People's Choice Award. The exhibition runs Saturdays 12-4pm, September 2-30, 2023, with opening reception on September 2 and final day on September 30. Eligibility is open to all artists and mediums from all parts of the world.
