About This Call
Baker University invites national artists to a juried show held in the Holt-Russell Gallery. All mediums are welcome except installation pieces and time-based pieces (videos, music, etc.). The Best in Show award is $500.00 and includes a solo show in the Holt-Russell Gallery during academic year 2022-23. Other awards will be given at juror discretion. The Holt-Russell Gallery serves as an educational experience for the Baker University Art Program and the Douglas County community.
Eligibility: Open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. All artwork must have been completed in the last 5 years (no earlier than 2016) and must be original work (no giclees or reproductions). Baker University faculty and staff are ineligible. Entry fee is $35.00 for 1-5 artworks. Submit 1-5 images of your work. Event dates: February 4 - March 4, 2022.
Juror: Christopher Benson is a painter who has exhibited in galleries across the southwest and both coasts for over 30 years. He is a two-time recipient of the Pollock-Krasner painting fellowship grant (2001 and 2016). The Newport Art Museum held a retrospective of his work in 2017. His work is included in leading public and private collections including the Museum of Modern Art.
