About This Call

Baker University invites national artists to apply to the Baker National exhibition (February 7–March 28, 2025) held in the Holt-Russell Gallery on the campus of Baker University. All mediums are welcome except installation pieces and time-based pieces (videos, music, etc.). The Best in Show award is $500.00 and includes a solo show in the Holt-Russell Gallery during academic year 2024-25. Other awards will be given at juror discretion.

The Holt-Russell Gallery serves as a place for student, regional and national contemporary artists to exhibit their work in a gallery setting, providing an educational experience for the Baker University Art Program and the Douglas County community.

Eligibility is open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. All artwork must have been completed in the last 5 years (no earlier than 2019) and must be original work (no giclees or reproductions). Baker University faculty, staff and students are ineligible. The application fee is $40.00 for up to 5 artworks. Applicants must submit a minimum of 1 and maximum of 5 images. Jury dates are January 6–10, 2025.

The juror is Trish VanOsdel, a sculptor and co-owner of Reuben Saunders Gallery in Wichita, Kansas. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wichita State University and a Master of Fine Arts from Alfred University. Her abstract and conceptual work explores subjects such as loss, consumption, and the human condition using a wide range of materials and found objects.
