Backroads: Art, Less Traveled

Vestige Concept Gallery presents Backroads: Art, Less Traveled, an exhibition seeking works of art that venture off the beaten path, especially with regard to travel. Artwork could include places or experiences involving hidden gems, special or unusual places, wanderings, odd travel, strange encounters, and/or "lost" and fading places. The gallery is seeking artwork of any kind from Emerging, Mid-Career, and/or Professional Artists. Work should relate to the theme of the show.

Eligibility: Open to artists over age 18 in the United States and Canada. Work should ideally have been created in the last two years and must be original artwork ready to display. The specific work must not have been previously displayed in a Vestige Concept Gallery exhibit. Work must be for sale (no "NFS" or deliberate overpricing). No Giclees or reproductions of original works will be accepted unless the work itself is a Giclee.

Entry Details: Applicants may submit up to six entries. Two entries are included in the $25 application fee. An additional charge of $5 per entry applies for submissions 3-6. Minimum 2 images required; maximum 6 images per submission. Application deadline is May 22, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 24, 2021. Shipped works must arrive no later than June 2, 2021. The in-person opening reception is Saturday, June 5 at 6 PM, featuring a live performance by singer/songwriter Reid Magette. The exhibition runs June 5-27, 2021.

Conditions: Accepted artwork must match submitted images exactly; no substitutions. Vestige Concept Gallery retains a 25% commission on sales. Artists are responsible for shipping and return shipping. 2D work must not exceed 30 lbs including frame. Wall pieces must be securely wired, framed, and properly prepared for display. 3D work and audio/video submissions require gallery discussion and are placed on a waitlist status.
