Baang + Burne New Works Grant and Gallery Representation 2014-15

Baang + Burne is hosting its third annual Call for Entry / New Works Grant. The opportunity offers either a spot on the gallery roster for representation and/or a $2,500 cash award recognizing the strongest new works proposal in contemporary art.

Baang + Burne, founded in 2010 by artist Kesha Bruce and Charlie Grosso, operates as a hybrid between a traditional gallery and an artist collective. The gallery represents artists and emphasizes collaboration as a core value. All mediums are welcome, including painting, sculpture, photography, multi-media, ephemeral, installation, video, performance, public art, and street art. The selection process involves a first round of elimination by associate directors, followed by review by the Executive Director, with Skype interviews scheduled for finalists before final decisions are made.

Eligibility is open to all artists age 18+. Entry fee is $40.00. Submissions must include 10-20 images (JPEG format, minimum 1920 px on longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, 5MB max file size), and may include up to 4 audio files and 4 video files. For new works grant submissions, applicants must describe the project in 500 words or less, provide start and estimated completion dates, and submit a detailed expense list. All applicants must answer 14 questions in place of a traditional CV and bio. Submissions must be made through CallForEntry.org. Entry deadline: 5/30/15 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
