About This Call
Axis Gallery invites submissions to its 14th National Juried Exhibition, featuring juror Amy Owen, curator at the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art in Napa, CA.
Open to artists residing in the U.S. The exhibition accepts contemporary original 2D and 3D work in any medium including painting, print, drawings, video, photography, or digital images. 2D work should not exceed a framed size of 48" in the longest dimension. 3D work is limited to 36" and not more than 60 lbs. Video work must be 5 minutes or shorter and will rotate on a 60" monitor installed in the gallery with other accepted work, or the artist may provide and install their own equipment (monitors no larger than 30" diagonal). If sound is integral to the work, headphones must be provided for viewers. All work must be original (no reproductions), produced within the last two years, and not previously shown at Axis Gallery. Work with complex installations or video will be included at the discretion of the juror and gallery.
Entry fee is $35 for three images/videos, with additional entries at $10 each (limit 6 total). Videos are limited to 3. Submit JPEG and video files according to CaFÉ guidelines. Accepted artists will be notified by email on June 24. Shipped work must arrive by July 22–26, with hand delivery available July 26–28, 12–5 pm. The exhibition opens August 2 and closes August 25. A Second Saturday Reception is scheduled for August 10, 6–9 pm. Work will be insured at Axis Gallery but not in transit. The gallery will not assume responsibility for improperly framed or poorly packaged work. Sales are encouraged with the gallery retaining 40% commission. Awards include cash prizes and a printed exhibition catalogue.
