AXIS GALLERY 11TH NATIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION

Axis Gallery is pleased to have Gregory Volk as juror for the 11th National Juried Exhibition. Gregory Volk is a New York-based art writer, independent curator, and frequent lecturer who writes regularly for Art in America as a contributing editor. His articles and reviews have appeared in publications including Parkett and Sculpture. He has curated numerous exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including Elemental (2013) at Havremagasinet in Boden, Sweden, and The Transportation Business (2015) at Jane Lombard Gallery in New York. He is an associate professor in the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University.

This exhibition is open to artists residing in the U.S. Contemporary original 2D and 3D work in any media is accepted, including painting, prints, drawings, photography, and digital images (no video). 2D work should not exceed a framed size of 48" in the longest dimension. 3D work is limited to 36" and not more than 60 lbs. All work must be original, produced within the last two years, and not previously shown at Axis Gallery. Submit 3-6 JPEG images according to CaFÉ guidelines. Entry fee is $35 for three images, with additional entries at $10 each (limit 6 total).

Accepted artists will be notified by June 18. Shipped work should arrive by July 25-29, with hand delivery available July 29-31 from 12:00-5:00pm. The exhibition opens August 5 and closes August 28. A Second Saturday Reception is scheduled for August 13 from 6:00-9:00pm. Awards include cash prizes, an exhibition catalogue, and an invitational exhibition curated by Axis Gallery members in December 2016. The gallery retains 40% commission on any work sold. Work will be insured at the gallery but not in transit. Images of accepted work may be used for promotional purposes and featured in the exhibition catalogue.
