Axis 16th National Juried Exhibition

Axis Gallery invites submissions to its 16th National Juried Exhibition, featuring juror Faith J. McKinnie, independent curator and coordinator of the Crocker Art Museum's Block by Block. The exhibition is open to artists residing in the U.S. and accepts contemporary original 2D and 3D work in any medium including painting, print, drawings, video, photography, or digital images. All work must be original, produced within the last two years, and not previously shown at Axis Gallery.

Work specifications: 2D work should not exceed 48" in the longest dimension when framed. 3D work is limited to 36" and not more than 60 lbs. Video work must be 5 minutes or shorter and will be rotated on a 60" monitor installed in the gallery, or the artist may provide and install their own equipment (monitors no larger than 30" diagonal). If audio is integral to the work, headphones must be provided for viewers. Work with complex installations or video will be included at the discretion of the juror and gallery.

Submission requirements: Submit JPEG files according to CaFÉ guidelines. Entry fee is $35 for three images/videos, with additional entries at $10 each (limit 6 total submissions; videos limited to 3). Accepted work must arrive by July 26–August 1 via shipping or July 23–25 or July 30–August 1 (12–5 pm) via hand delivery to Axis Gallery. The exhibition opens August 6 and closes August 29. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email in late June. Awards include cash prizes and a printed exhibition catalog. Sales are encouraged with the gallery retaining 40% commission. Work will be insured while at Axis Gallery but not during transit. Hand-delivered work may be picked up August 29 (5–7 pm) or August 30 (3–5 pm). For questions, contact [email protected].
