AVA Community Art Center's 24th Annual Art Matters Art Auction

AVA Community Art Center in Gillette, WY invites artists to submit up to three original artworks for consideration in the 24th Annual Art Auction & Fundraiser. The event will feature forty-five individual artworks in Live & Silent Auctions, with awards for Best In Show ($7,000), Second Place ($1,500), Third Place ($500), and three People's Choice awards ($100 each) selected through jury review and public voting.

Submissions must be 2D or 3D original artwork in any medium, with dimensions not exceeding 48 inches in any direction including matting and framing. Work over 2 years old or previously shown at an AVA event will not be considered. Unacceptable submissions include celebrity portraits, fan art, giclee prints, artwork from tutorials, direct copies, and work infringing on copyright. Each submission requires at least one high-resolution digital image in JPEG, PNG, GIF, or TIFF format (maximum 2400 pixels). The entry fee is $35 for up to three artworks. Artists must set both Fair Market Value and Reserve Value for their work and choose a commission split of either 50% or 75% to AVA, or commit 100% of proceeds (which includes two gala admission tickets valued at $250).

Accepted artwork must be delivered to AVA between November 21-29, 2025, finished and display-ready with professional framing, acid-free matting, and secure hanging hardware. The exhibition runs December 2, 2025 through January 31, 2026. Unsold artwork must be picked up by February 14, 2026, with return shipping the responsibility of the artist. Commission payments for sold work will be distributed by February 5, 2026. Upon acceptance, artists must provide a short biography and may include business cards or professional links to be included with artwork purchases.
