AVA Community Art Center's 21st Annual Art Matters Art Auction

AVA's 2023 Gala Fundraiser & Art Auction will feature forty-five (45) individual artworks in Live & Silent Auctions. Awards for Best In Show ($7,000), Second Place ($1,500), and Third Place ($500) will be allocated based on a juried selection process. Three (3) People's Choice awards ($100 each) will be selected based on public votes and announced during the Artists' Reception.

2D and 3D original artwork in any medium will be considered for acceptance. The submission fee is $35.00 (one payment for up to three artworks). Artwork dimensions are restricted to forty-eight inches (48") in any direction, inclusive of matting and framing. Work must be original and not previously shown at an AVA Event or created over 2 years ago. Artwork that will not be considered includes: Celebrity Portraits or Fan Art, Giclee Prints or Reproduction Prints, artwork created from tutorials, direct copies of other artists' work, or work infringing on copyright laws. Each submission must include one high-resolution digital image in JPEG, PNG, GIF, or TIFF format not exceeding 2400 pixels, labeled as: Artist Name/Title/Size.

Accepted artwork must be delivered to AVA between December 19-23, 2022, and must be finished and display ready. Professional framing is required; sawtooth hangers, clip frames, and plastic framing are not permitted. Acid-free matting or backing and firmly attached hanging wire are required. Artists must set Fair Market Value and Reserve Value for their work. Participating artists may choose a 50% or 75% commission split to AVA, or commit 100% of proceeds to receive one admission ticket and one guest ticket to the Gala (valued at $250). Upon acceptance, artists must provide a short biography and may include business cards or professional links to be included with artwork purchases. Exhibition dates: January 3-28, 2023.
