AUSTIN Gallery + Art Fair | Open Call 2024

Dama Gallery opened their dynamic Texas location in 2021 in the East Sixth neighborhood in Downtown Austin, positioned in the district that hosts the prestigious SXSW Festival. The gallery is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression through innovative exhibitions that traverse various media and genres.

Entries are reviewed weekly and selections are made throughout the month by the curator. Exhibition lengths vary from 1 to 3 months, with the number of pieces depending on the artist's medium and sizes of selected work. Featured artists are invited and encouraged to personally attend receptions. A selected few may be invited for a recorded artist interview and/or panel discussion about their exhibit. Artists selected for exhibition will also be considered for representation by Dama Gallery, which includes priority consideration for future exhibitions, ongoing professional consultation and portfolio assistance, marketing and promotional assistance, and online market inventory and website profile.

All artwork must be original and unsold, with the artist owning sole copyright. Frames, mats, and wiring must be professional quality and in good condition. 2D artwork selected for exhibition must be ready to hang. Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks. Dama Gallery adheres to a 50% commission on sales. Artworks are listed on Artsy, the gallery's online sales platform partner. Sales remittance to the artist occurs 5-7 business days post-exhibition and/or upon buyer payment finalization, whichever occurs first. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 per image (maximum 20 images total). Submissions must include at least 3 images, biography, and artist statement, along with website and social media accounts.
