About This Call
Aurora PhotoCenter offers two residencies in 2026 for artists working in photography or photo-based media: The Aurora + Herron Residency and the Aurora Workspace Residency. Both residencies have an application deadline of March 31, 2026.
The 2026 Aurora + Herron Residency takes place August 10-21, 2026. A collaboration between Aurora PhotoCenter and Herron School of Art + Design, the residency offers a two-week intensive work period in the Herron darkroom and studios, a $1,000 stipend, and housing on the campus of The Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis (CAMi). The 2026 Aurora Workspace Residency offers a two-week intensive work period at Aurora PhotoCenter's darkroom and digital lab, a $1,000 stipend, and housing, with the two-week period scheduled with the resident.
The residencies are open to all artists working in photography or photo-based media. Artists from any country or region may apply; Indiana and Indianapolis-based artists are eligible and encouraged to apply for both residencies. For more information and application details, visit auroraphoto.org.
