Aurora Arts Festival 2015: ReUp

The Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD) announces its annual Aurora Arts Festival with the theme "Recycled and Upcycled Art – ReUp!" The festival celebrates artists, performers, and musicians with connections to the district and features 75 arts and craft vendors, local business and community group booths, and live entertainment throughout the day. A large-scale public art project within the recycling theme will take place during the festival.

The festival will be held at Fletcher Plaza, 9898 E Colfax Ave., on Saturday, June 27th, from 10am-8pm. Last year over 1,500 people attended. ACAD is seeking artists, makers, and crafters who specialize in recycled and upcycled art, though other art media is encouraged and will be considered. All work must be original and at least 75% recycled/re-used, produced by the exhibitor. Materials must be elements originally manufactured and destined for disposal, reformatted in a manner different from their original intended use. Natural materials such as rocks, sticks, leaves, bones, dirt, and water do not qualify as recycled/upcycled.

Booth fees: Early Bird Special (until May 15th): $65 for 10x10 space or $125 for 10x20 space. After May 15th: $85 for 10x10 or $150 for 10x20. Space is limited. All vendors must have insurance. Setup begins at 7am; takedown cannot begin until 8pm. Submit five JPEG images (1920 pixels maximum on longest side, 72 dpi, under 2MB) and a paragraph about your work. Artists will be notified via email by June 8th if selected. No booth fee refunds after June 15th.
