Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century 2025

Clatsop Community College announces its fifteenth annual international juried exhibition, Au Naturel: the Nude in the 21st Century, to be held January 23 - March 13, 2025 in the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery in Astoria, Oregon, with a reception on Thursday, February 20 at 6 p.m. This international juried competition is open to all artists working in drawing, painting, and printmaking media with a focus on the nude human figure as subject matter in any form ranging from representational to abstract, employing the handmade mark as the primary means of image-making. A limited number of three-dimensional works may also be considered. Photography is not eligible.

Eligibility requirements: Artists must be 18 years or older. Submitted artwork must have been executed in the last five years and must be available for the duration of the exhibit. Work must not be reproduced by photomechanical processes, including giclée prints. For 2D work, maximum dimensions are 6 feet x 10 feet (183 cm x 305 cm) and must not weigh more than 35 lbs. (16 kg) uncrated. All accepted artwork must be framed or otherwise professionally presented with wires or hanging devices. For three-dimensional art, the maximum footprint is 36 x 36 inches (91 x 91 cm) and must not weigh over 50 lbs (23 kg) uncrated.

Entry fee is $45.00 for submission of one to three images, with an additional $5.00 media fee for each image beyond the third. Maximum of 15 images may be submitted. Exhibition awards include $1000 in cash prizes, up to $2000 in purchase awards, potential featured exhibitions in the Royal Nebeker Gallery, and select Visiting Artist Workshop awards.
