About This Call

Clatsop Community College presents the fourteenth annual international juried exhibition, Au Naturel: the Nude in the 21st Century, held January 23 - March 12, 2020 in the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.

This international juried competition is open to all artists working in two-dimensional drawing, painting, and printmaking media with a focus on the nude human figure as subject matter in any form ranging from representational to abstract, employing the handmade mark as the primary means of image-making. Photography is not eligible. Entrants must be 18 years or older. Artwork must have been executed in the last five years and must be available for the duration of the exhibit. Artwork created under the supervision of an instructor or reproduced by photomechanical processes (including giclée prints) will not be accepted. The 2020 juror is Henk Pander, a renowned artist represented in prestigious museums including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Entry fee is $40 for one to three images, with $5 for each additional image. Submissions must include 3-20 images. Maximum artwork dimensions are 6 feet x 10 feet and must not weigh more than 50 lbs uncrated. All accepted artwork must be framed or professionally presented with wires or hanging devices. Exhibition awards include $1000 in cash prizes, up to $2000 in purchase awards, one solo show feature for the following exhibition season, and Visiting Artist Workshop awards. Accepted artists will be notified by December 2, 2019. Work must arrive at the gallery by January 10, 2020. Hand-delivered work may be picked up March 13, 2020 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The gallery retains a 35% commission on all sales and will insure all artwork for the duration of the exhibit.
