About This Call
Clatsop Community College presents the eighth annual international juried exhibition, Au Naturel: the Nude in the 21st Century, held January 23-March 20, 2014.
Eligibility: This international juried competition is open to all artists 18 years or older working in two-dimensional drawing, painting, and printmaking media with a focus on the nude human figure as subject matter in any form ranging from representational to abstract. Photography is not eligible. Artwork must have been executed in the last three years, must not be created under instructor supervision, and must be available for the duration of the exhibit. Artwork reproduced by photomechanical processes, including giclée prints, will not be accepted. Maximum dimensions are 6 feet x 10 feet and must not weigh more than 50 lbs. uncrated. All accepted artwork must be framed or otherwise professionally presented with wires or hanging devices (no saw-tooth hangers).
Submission Requirements: Submit 3-15 images online through CaFÉ. Entry fee is $35 for 1-3 images and $5 for each additional image. Entries must be received by Midnight (11:59:59 pm) Mountain Time, November 11th, 2013. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by November 27th, 2013. Accepted work must arrive at the Art Center Gallery no later than January 10th, 2014. Artist Reception is January 30th, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. with a pre-opening gathering for artists at 5:00 p.m. Pick-up date for hand-delivered work is March 21st, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. Shipped work will be returned with return label provided by the artist.
Awards: $1000 in cash prizes, up to $2000 in purchase awards, one solo show feature for the following exhibition season, and select Visiting Artist Workshop awards. The juror is Charles Froelick, owner and director of Froelick Gallery. The gallery will retain a 35% commission on all sales. All artwork will be insured for the duration of the exhibit.
