Attention to Detail

Art Saint Louis presents "Attention to Detail," an all media juried visual art exhibition featuring artworks predominantly defined by the details of their composition. This includes artworks marked by density of detail or intricacy, or details presented in isolation or contrast to surrounding elements—works where significance, meaning or impact is achieved principally in or through detail. All explorations and interpretations of this theme are invited, with all media, styles and techniques encouraged.

Eligibility is open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region/200-mile radius when the show begins (January 12, 2019) in order to submit work and participate if selected. Jurors for this exhibit are St. Louis-based artists M. Shawn Cornell and Marie Oberkirsch. The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, MO, from January 12-February 13, 2019, with a free reception on Saturday, January 12, 2019, 5-7 p.m.

Entry fees are $35.00 for non-members and $20.00 for ASL members. Submissions must include 1-6 images and 0-3 videos (6 total samples maximum). Limit 3 original artworks completed between 2015-2018 that respond to the theme. Works must not have been exhibited in any juried exhibit in the St. Louis region during the 6 months prior to exhibit dates, nor previously exhibited at Art Saint Louis Gallery. Awards of Excellence will be selected by the Jurors, including one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence and four non-cash Awards of Excellence. All five Award recipients will be eligible for the "Honor Awards 2020" ten-artist curated exhibit presented at Art Saint Louis, June 13-July 16, 2020. The entry deadline is October 22, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
