Atmosphere

The Women's Caucus for Art Colorado Chapter invites artists to submit work for a group exhibition exploring the theme of "atmosphere." From the physical environment and emotional to the abstract and ethereal, the concept of atmosphere is vast and open to interpretation. Paintings, sculptures, installations, mixed media, photography, and digital art will all be considered. Artists at all stages of their careers are welcome to submit.

The exhibition will be held at D'Art Gallery, located at 900 Santa Fe Drive in the Santa Fe art district of Denver, Colorado. The exhibition runs September 28 - October 22, 2023, with an opening reception on September 29, 5-9 PM and a First Friday event on October 6, 5-9 PM. Juror Robin Hextrum, a contemporary oil painter and Associate Professor of Visual Art at Regis University, will select works and determine award winners during the opening reception.

Entry fee is $35. Submit 1-3 images of original, completed work through Callforentry.org by August 13, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artist notification will occur the week of August 27, 2023. Shipped work must arrive by September 23, 2023, or hand-delivered September 23-24 between 1-4 PM. All 2-D work must be ready to hang with wire. Paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped with fully painted edges. Artists are responsible for delivery, pickup, and return shipping costs. Cash prizes will be awarded: $300 for Best in Show and $100 each for three Honorable Mentions. Selected artists will have the opportunity to sell work through D'Art Gallery, which retains a 30% commission. Three scholarships are available for emerging artists; requests must be submitted to [email protected] by August 1st.
