AT NIGHT: A Photographic Exploration of Light

Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery invites submissions for AT NIGHT: A Photographic Exploration of Light, a national juried photography exhibition. Artists are asked to investigate the complexities of night imagery and light sources that play off objects, surfaces, and interior and exterior spaces at night. The exhibition will run May 6 – June 10, 2023, with an artists reception on Saturday, May 6 from 1–3 p.m.

The exhibition has two components: a five-week physical gallery exhibition and an eight-week online exhibition. All selected artworks will exhibit online, and the juror will select certain works for the physical gallery display. The juror is Shane Booth, an award-winning professional artist and professor of Photography at Fayetteville State University. Submissions are accepted via CaFE (Call for Entry) beginning March 18 through April 18, 2023 at midnight EST. Artists may submit up to three original photographs for a non-refundable entry fee of $35. Work must be between 8" x 10" and 48" x 60" including frame, properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. All works must be original and not previously exhibited at Ellington-White Contemporary. Eligibility is open to all professional artists 18 years and older.

Accepted works must arrive ready to install by May 3, 2023. The gallery offers a 30% commission on all sales. Cash awards will be given. Work pick-up is available June 14–17 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. or by appointment. For questions, contact the gallery at [email protected] or 910-483-1388.
