About This Call
The Art Department at Adams State College will host a regional juried exhibition for high school seniors from November 28 through December 14, 2016. The exhibition will showcase works of high school students from SLV and award scholarships to the most promising artists. All entries will be featured in an online exhibition, and a juried selection will be displayed in Adams State University's Hatfield Gallery.
Scholarship awards will be given to first, second, and third place winners selected from the Hatfield Gallery exhibition. The competition is open to all media and is limited to high school students graduating in spring 2016. Work must be framed or otherwise ready to display, labeled on the back with the artist's name and title, and must have been created within two years of entry. There is no entry fee.
Accepted works will be insured while on university premises. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping costs and must enclose a prepaid return shipping label via UPS or FedEx. All proceeds from works sold go directly to the artist; the gallery takes no commission but encourages donations of 10-20%. The opening reception is Thursday, December 1, from noon to 1:00 p.m. Notification of acceptance will be sent October 19, 2016. For questions, contact Prof. Eugene Schilling at 719-587-7301 or [email protected].
