Astrologia

Astrologia pays homage to the rich history of influence that astrological traditions have had for centuries on creative works and popular culture. The exhibition brings together artists' new visual interpretations of the zodiac, astrological signs, motifs, and symbols, exploring intersections of astrology, identity and mythology through contemporary art. Works may depict long-standing traditional belief systems or cultural relevance, contemporary viewpoints, or newly imagined visual interpretations of one's own personal connection to the cosmos.

Open to international artists 18 years or older. All artwork must be original and completed within the last two years, and cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts. Submissions should include 1-5 images. Entry fee is $25 ($0 for Blue Line Arts members with coupon code). Cash prizes: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $400, 3rd Place $300. Application deadline: May 1, 2023. Notification date: May 5, 2023. Exhibition dates: May 27 – July 8, 2023. Opening reception: June 17, 2023, 4-8pm.

All 2-D works must be ready to hang with wire backing (no sawtooth hangers). Artwork must be able to enter through doors with clearance of 94"h x 91"w and cannot exceed 60 lbs. Shipped work must arrive by May 21, 2023, or hand-delivered May 21-22, 10am-3pm. All artwork must be for sale.
