Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2018

Assistance League of Houston invites original works by Texas artists for Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2018, on view January 17 – February 23, 2018 at Williams Tower Gallery, 1902 Commonwealth, Houston, TX 77006-1836.

Eligibility: Entries must be original works by artists residing in Texas, completed in the last two years, done without supervision. Works previously exhibited in Assistance League of Houston competitive exhibitions are not eligible. All work submitted must be available for sale at the time of submission. Entries must be suitable for a public, corporate setting; nudity, sexual suggestion, graphic violence, loud or disruptive noises, etc. will not be exhibited.

Submission Details: Artists may submit 1-4 entries. Entry fee is $15 per entry. Images must be submitted through CaFE (CallForEntry.org). Entries may be any medium including painting, photography, sculpture, and works on paper. Work must not exceed 78" tall and 96" wide. Sculpture must not exceed 5'x5' at the base and 10' high, weighing no more than 100 pounds. Wall hangings are limited to 40 pounds. Works requiring power must use battery power supplied by the artist. Works with audio must include an MP3 sound clip. Delivery to Williams Tower Gallery is January 13, 2018, 10 a.m.–Noon. Work pickup is February 24, 2018, 10 a.m.–Noon.

Juror: Anna Katz, Assistant Curator, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Awards: $4,000 First Place, $2,000 Second Place, $1,000 Third Place. Notification of acceptance: November 22, 2017. Twenty percent of sales proceeds benefit Assistance League of Houston's philanthropic programs.
