Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2017

Assistance League of Houston invites original works by Texas-based artists for this juried exhibition. The show runs January 18 – February 24, 2017 at Williams Tower Gallery in Houston. Artists may submit 1-4 entries in any medium including painting, photography, sculpture, and works on paper. Entry fee is $15 per work, with an additional $15 media fee for images beyond the minimum. The juror is José Esparza Chong Cuy, Pamela Alper Associate Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

Eligibility: Entries must be original works completed within the last two years by artists residing in Texas, done without supervision. Works that have been in previous competitive exhibitions are not eligible. All work must be available for sale at time of submission and suitable for public, corporate settings (nudity, sexual suggestion, and graphic violence will not be exhibited). Work size limits: paintings and works on paper must not exceed 84" tall by 96" wide; sculpture must not exceed 5'x5' at the base and 10' high, weighing no more than 100 pounds. Wall hangings are limited to 50 pounds.

Cash awards: $4,000 First Place, $2,000 Second Place, $1,000 Third Place. Twenty percent of sales proceeds benefit Assistance League of Houston's philanthropic programs.
