Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2013

Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2013 is an exhibition open to original works by artists residing in Texas, completed within the last two years. The exhibition runs January 17 – February 22, 2013 at Williams Tower Gallery in Houston. Entries may be any medium, including painting, photography, sculpture, and works on paper. Works must not exceed 144" wide by 84" tall; sculpture must not exceed 5'x5' at the base and 10' high, and must weigh no more than 100 pounds. All entries must be suitable for a public, corporate setting; nudity, sexual suggestion, and graphic violence are not permitted. Works previously exhibited in competitive exhibitions are not eligible.

The entry deadline is October 31, 2012. Each artist may submit up to four entries. The entry fee is $15 per entry, with an additional $15 per image over the minimum of one image. Entries must be submitted through CaFE (CallForEntry.org) and paid by credit card. Work delivery to Williams Tower Gallery is January 12, 2013, 10 a.m.–noon. The opening and award presentations are January 17, 2013, 6 p.m.–8 p.m. Work pickup is February 23, 2013, 10 a.m.–noon.

The juror is Irene Hofmann, Director and Chief Curator of SITE Santa Fe. Cash awards are $4,000 First Place, $2,000 Second Place, and $1,000 Third Place. Preliminary selections will be made from submitted images; final selections will be made from actual works.
