About This Call

Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2012 is an exhibition for original works by artists residing in Texas. The event runs January 12 – February 24, 2012 at Williams Tower Gallery in Houston. Entry deadline is October 31, 2011.

Artists may submit 1-4 entries in any medium including painting, photography, sculpture, and works on paper. Work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited in competitive shows. All entries must be suitable for public and corporate settings; nudity, sexual suggestion, and graphic violence are not permitted. Maximum dimensions are 144" wide by 84" tall for paintings and works on paper; sculpture must not exceed 5'x5' at the base and 10' high, and cannot weigh more than 100 pounds. Entry fee is $15 per entry, with an additional $15 per image over the minimum. Payment is by credit card only through CallForEntry.org.

Cash awards: $4,000 First Place, $2,000 Second Place, $1,000 Third Place. Juror is Robin Clark, Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Notification of acceptance will be emailed the week of November 21, 2011. Work delivery to Williams Tower Gallery is January 7, 2012, 10 a.m.–noon. Opening and award presentations are January 12, 2012, 6 p.m.–8 p.m. Work pickup is February 25, 2012, 10 a.m.–noon. Works shipped after January 6, 2012 will be returned unopened. Assistance League of Houston is not responsible for damage, loss, or deterioration in transit. Sculpture with moveable parts must be provided with an acrylic vitrine or self-insured. Williams Tower Gallery is not responsible for damage to ceramic or glass pieces.
