About This Call
Creative Flagstaff is soliciting project or presentation proposals for the inaugural 2024 ARTx Art + Ideas Experience Arizona festival to be held May 17th-26th, 2024 across the city of Flagstaff. This 10-day event introduces ARTx to the broader community with multiple days of events, presentations, and art-centered experiences, building on the momentum of the pilot event in May of 2023.
This call is open to grant-seeking projects, individuals, and organizations, as well as those looking to be officially selected as part of the festival without grant funding. All participants looking to be officially listed must apply. Grant-funded projects must be free and open to the public, participate in co-promotion activities on social media, and are required to participate in an artist talk, panel discussion, or Q+A organized by ARTx during the festival dates. Awards will range from $500 to $10,000 based on applications received.
Applications may include up to 20 images, 6 audio files, and 6 video files (20 total samples maximum). Applicants may submit up to 5 applications. The festival showcases the convergence of art, science, and culture, with dozens of traditional and non-traditional venues and more than 50 artists and contributors expected to transform the city. Submissions will be evaluated based on level of execution (40%), lasting public benefit (10%), and alignment with ARTx principles including immersive or interactive experiences, multi-disciplinary or collaborative work, and addressing contemporary issues (50%).
