About This Call
ArtsThrive is the only juried exhibition at the Albuquerque Museum and the largest fundraiser of the year for the Foundation. Accepted artists will have their artwork displayed in one of the Albuquerque Museum's galleries from March 4 – April 16, 2023. All artwork will be for sale to the public during this 6-week exhibition, with 60% of art sales going to the artist and 40% retained by the Foundation. The show typically accepts over 100 artists each year.
This is a small format show with specific size limitations. 2-D wall-hung artwork is limited to three works, each not exceeding 18 x 18 inches framed/unframed (or 36 inches total height and width combined). 3-D case-displayed artwork is limited to two works, each not exceeding 20 inches in any dimension. Jewelry artists may submit a set of three pieces (one necklace, one bracelet, one pair of earrings) displayed as a set in a jewelry case. Artists set their own sale prices. During the Opening Weekend Collectors' Dinner and Saturday Gala on March 2 & 4, ticket holders have exclusive purchasing opportunities before the exhibition opens to the public on March 5. Remaining unsold artwork will be available through an online sales platform. Artists must provide high-quality JPEG images (minimum 72dpi) by February 6, 2023 for online sales.
Artwork must be delivered or shipped ready-to-install and dry to the touch. Wall pieces need D-rings or similar hanging devices. Shipped artwork must be in reusable crates or sturdy commercial shipping containers without Styrofoam peanuts. All shipping costs are the artist's responsibility. Unsold artwork unclaimed 30 days after the exhibition closes will be considered abandoned. Application deadline is August 7, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT with a $25 non-refundable fee. Applicants must submit 3-4 images representing work created in the past three years from one or two categories (painting, sculpture, prints, drawing, photography, jewelry, fiber, glass, or pottery/ceramics). Applicants must be US citizens, 18 years or older, and provide an artist statement with image titles, prices, medium, and size information.
