About This Call

The Artspace Fine Contemporary Craft National Exhibition is a juried exhibition for original functional and sculptural craft works. Eligible media include basketry, ceramics, fiber, furniture (any media), glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, handmade paper, and wood. Fine art media such as painting, photography, and lithography are not eligible unless incorporated into an otherwise eligible media. Decorated furniture, candles, pressed flowers, handmade reproductions, and objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are not eligible.

Entrants must submit up to 2 original works (and may submit a maximum of 2 details total) as digital images via www.callforentry.org, along with a one-page resume and a non-refundable $30 entry fee. The deadline for receipt of entries is October 4, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance notification will be sent by email on October 25, 2010. Accepted work must be hand-delivered or shipped to Artspace between November 16-26, 2010 (10am-6pm, closed Sundays; ring bell for Monday deliveries). All shipping and transportation costs are the responsibility of the artist. The opening reception and awards presentation will be held December 3, 2010 (6-10pm, awards at 7:30pm), and the exhibition closes January 15, 2011. Pick up or shipping of works will occur January 18-20, 2011.

Awards include Best of Show ($750), Second Place/Award of Distinction ($500), Third Place/Award of Merit ($250), and two Honorable Mentions ($50 each). All accepted entries will be listed in an exhibition brochure. The exhibition is juried by Alfred Ward, an internationally known designer in silversmithing and jewelry.
