About This Call
Submit entries via www.callforentry.org between June 22, 2012 and October 4, 2012 at 11:59pm MT. You may submit one or two works of art maximum via digital images. You are allotted four images to include up to two details total if applicable. If more than two works are submitted, only the first two will be reviewed. A one-page resume must be uploaded for exhibition publicity if accepted. The non-refundable processing fee is $25, payable via credit card or check.
The juror is Gwynne Rukenbrod, an accomplished glass artist and Executive Director of Handmade in America in Asheville, NC. She has previously served as Curator of Fine Craft at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Executive Director of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers, Art Curator of The Works (the Ohio Center for History, Art and Technology), and Director of Columbus' Days of Creation Arts for Kids.
Acceptance notification will be sent by email on October 26, 2012. Accepted work must be delivered to Artspace between November 24 and December 1, 2012 (10am-6pm, closed Sunday; ring bell for Monday deliveries). The opening reception and awards presentation will be held December 7, 2012 (6-10pm, awards at 7:30pm). The exhibition closes January 12, 2013. Pick up or shipping of works will be available January 14-16, 2013 (ring bell on Mondays). All shipping and transportation costs are the responsibility of the artist. Shipped entries must be sent in a reusable container, and artists must pay for return shipping. If accepted, submit a prepaid return shipping label by January 14.
Awards include Best of Show ($750), Second Place/Award of Distinction ($500), Third Place/Award of Merit ($250), and two Honorable Mentions ($50 each). All accepted entries will be listed in an exhibition brochure. Artspace will retain a 30% commission of the retail price of each work sold. Work in the exhibit does not have to be for sale. Artspace assumes responsibility for insuring and caring for works of art selected for exhibition while at Artspace according to a contractual agreement with each artist.
