Artspace Artists Association Membership

Artspace Artists Association Membership is a two-stage jury process for artists seeking membership in the organization. Annual membership dues are $80 and include individual membership to Artspace, Inc.

Membership benefits include participation in Artspace Hall exhibitions, opportunities for solo exhibits in the Artspace Lobby, opportunities for solo or two-person shows in the Upfront Gallery, selection for AAA-only group exhibitions in Gallery One, and sales opportunities through exhibitions and the Artspace gift shop (30% commission taken). Members may participate in the leadership and direction of the Association through committees, officer positions, or the Board of Directors of Artspace, Inc. AAA members may also rent studio space in the Artspace building as space becomes available with no commission charged on studio sales. Individual membership benefits include a complimentary subscription to the bi-monthly newsletter Artspace Now, special mailings for exhibitions and events, discounts on classes and workshops, invitations to Members Only events, 10% discount on gift shop and exhibition purchases, and invitation to the Members Annual Meeting.

Stage One requires submission of a completed jury application, ten images representing work produced in the last three years, resume, artist statement, artist biography, and a $30 application fee. Standards Committee members select finalists through www.callforentry.org. Stage Two requires finalists to bring eight original works of art to Artspace for in-person review by three regional jurors (artists, museum curators, university art professors, gallery owners, or other arts professionals). Jurors evaluate professionalism and quality of work, including competence and technical excellence, visual impact and originality, consistency and distinct body of work, and evidence of professional practice as an artist.
