About This Call
The Town of Monument is launching its annual ArtSites call to artists for 12 sculptures to be located on pedestals throughout the Monument area. The pieces will be displayed for one year. Selected artists will be awarded a $1,000 stipend for each selected piece.
Applicants must submit 1-3 digital photographs per sculpture. Sculptures must be complete at time of entry; mock-ups and renderings will not be accepted. Submissions should include a short description of the piece's dimensions and requirements for installing on a concrete pedestal with an 18" embedded steel plate. Base dimensions should not exceed 24". Multiple entries per artist are welcome.
Selected art will be insured by the Town of Monument or the owner of the property on which the pedestal site is located. As of 2022, the Town partners with Otocast, a mobile app that provides an audio driving and walking tour of outdoor public art in the TriLakes area. QR codes will bring up individual pieces with audio descriptions recorded by the artists. Applicants must have means to deliver their sculpture to Monument by the install date in the week of June 17th, 2024 and be prepared to take custody of the sculpture at the end of the exhibit period.
