About This Call

In collaboration with the Bedford Cultural Commission, the City of Bedford presents ArtsFest, an event to promote and celebrate the arts in Bedford. This family-friendly festival will feature artists, musicians, and performers who contribute to the vibrant heritage of the North Texas region. The third annual Bedford ArtsFest will take place March 28, 2015 at the Bedford Boys Ranch Park in the heart of the city's cultural district. The event coincides with the City of Bedford's Easter Egg Celebration, allowing families to enjoy Easter festivities and continue to ArtsFest for free entertainment and activities. The festival will include food trucks, musical entertainers, and art of all shapes and sizes.

Artists approved by the jury will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell art in a designated Juried area. Booth spaces are available: Single Booth Space (10'x10') for $50 or Double Booth Space (10'x20') for $100. Public admission and parking are free. The jury, composed of professional artists, will select artists from applications and choose award winners on the day of the festival based on principles and elements of design, quality of technique, execution, materials, originality of work, and booth appearance. Awards include Best of Show ($300), Runner Up ($200), Second Runner Up ($100), and three Best of Shows for K-12 Students ($50 each).

Applications must include four color, high-resolution digital images (JPG) of current work and one image of a booth with no visible name or logo (or an additional piece of work if no booth image is available). The application fee is $10 (non-refundable). Acceptance notification will be sent March 6, 2015. Artists must confirm acceptance by March 13, 2015 at 11:59pm and pay booth fees in full by March 20, 2015 at 5:00pm to receive a refund with a $25 cancellation fee. Check-in and setup are March 28, 2015 from 6:00am to 9:00am, with strike and cleanup from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
