ArtScape Hendersonville 2022

ArtScape Hendersonville is an annually changing outdoor public-arts project that enriches the appeal of Hendersonville. Forty banners displaying original artwork by Henderson County artists are hung on Main Street, the downtown avenues, and the Historic 7th Avenue District. The corridor of colorful, waving banners brightens Hendersonville's historic downtown area and creates a unique outdoor art gallery for tourists and locals. ArtScape Hendersonville was founded in 2017 under the umbrella of the Art League of Henderson County and is supported in part by the Community Foundation, Henderson County TDA, the Arts Council of Henderson County, and corporate sponsors.

Eligibility: Must be a resident of Henderson County, NC and at least 18 years old. Only original artwork will be considered—no reproductions or giclées. Artwork may be 2D, 3D, fine crafts, or photography. Artists may submit up to three pieces for one $35 entry fee, but only one entry per artist will be accepted. Image resolution must be high resolution (300 DPI) and 1920 PPI on either the height or width edge. Banner-display area is square, approximately 24" X 24". Banners are displayed on light poles, so vibrant, high-contrast entries may be most appealing.

Accepted artwork will appear on both sides of a durable-vinyl banner along with the artist's name and the banner's sponsor name. The City of Hendersonville hangs the banners annually and maintains them throughout the exhibit. Selected artists will be notified after the jury completes its selection process. Each accepted artist will have two lines in the ArtScape brochure: the artist's name and contact information (up to 42 characters total for website, email, address, and/or phone number).
