About This Call
The City of Frisco, TX seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks to be printed on pole banners in the Rail District in downtown Frisco between 3rd and 5th Streets. Up to 20 artworks will be selected, and artists will receive a $150 fee per selected artwork. The exhibition is scheduled for September 29, 2023 through February 25, 2024.
Artists may submit up to three images of original 2-dimensional artwork for consideration. All artworks must be original and not infringe on copyrighted content. Submitted artworks must fit within the pole banner format and print at 20 x 24 inches. Art displayed must be appropriate to a public setting and for viewing by public officials, City employees, and citizens, including children. Submissions are accepted only through www.callforentry.org. For submission, images must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest sides, under 5 MB, with sRGB color profile. Include artist name (no more than 21 characters), artwork title (no more than 21 characters), date of completion, medium/media, and a description of your motivation, themes, and/or process.
Artists with selected artwork must submit press-ready files by Tuesday, September 12 to [email protected] in PDF, Adobe Illustrator .ai, or .eps format at 300-dpi for 20 x 24 inches with CMYK full bleed color profile. Selected artworks not delivered to these specifications will be disqualified. Selection criteria include compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, demonstrated excellence of technique, and whether the artwork reflects the shared values of the City of Frisco. Selected artists must sign a loan agreement by Tuesday, September 12.
