About This Call
The Arts & Humanities Teacher Grants are designed to support teachers actively employed in K–12 classrooms in San Miguel County, Colorado. These grants are divided into two categories: Arts and Humanities. Each category includes 1 Winner Award of $2,665 and 3 Honorable Mentions of $1,000 each.
The grants provide direct support to teachers developing innovative projects in visual arts, performance, literature, history, philosophy, and other humanities disciplines. Projects should enhance classroom experiences through new materials, guest speakers, field trips, or creative programming; foster meaningful engagement between students and the arts and humanities; and demonstrate clear educational value and creative innovation. Applications must clearly articulate how the proposed project will impact students, strengthen the educational experience within San Miguel County schools, and include a final public presentation in Telluride.
Eligible applicants are individual teachers (full-time or part-time) employed directly by a public or private school in San Miguel County who are actively teaching or integrating Arts or Humanities into their curriculum. Applications must include: Statement of Intention, Project Overview, Purpose of Funding, Student & Community Benefit explanation, Project Budget, and Proof of Cost documentation. Projects must demonstrate demonstrable local impact and be shared with the Telluride community through a public presentation upon completion. All applications are subject to blind review by designated juror panels, with personal details and obvious indicators of applicant identity removed prior to review. Grants will be awarded and all applicants informed of status by October 22, 2025.
