Arts for Earth: EARTH SPIRIT

EARTH SPIRIT is a 1st Annual Open Call benefit art exhibition presented by Arts for Earth Foundation. The exhibition runs October 2-25, 2015 at WAV Gallery in Ventura, California, and is open to professional and amateur artists 18 years or older. Artists are invited to submit original 2-D artwork created within the past two years that expresses their spiritual connection with the Earth.

Eligibility and Specifications: All entries must be original artwork not previously shown in any AFEF competition, with no instructor-supervised work accepted. All work must be for sale and framed to professional standards (no saw-toothed hangers). Accepted media includes oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, digitally manipulated images, and other 2-D media on paper, canvas, or acrylic canvas. Mosaic is accepted if 2-D and under 50 lbs. Collage may be incorporated if no more than 25% of the piece. No 3-D work, photography, or commercially printed material accepted. Artists may submit up to 3 small works (no larger than 18"x24"), OR 2 medium works (up to 24"x36"), OR 1 larger work (up to 48"x60"). Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable).

Awards and Details: Selected works will be subject to a 30% commission if sold during the exhibition. Awards include 1st place ($200 + one year membership), 2nd place ($100 + one year membership), 3rd place ($50 + one year membership), 2 Honorable Mentions (certificate + one year membership), and People's Choice Award (certificate + one year membership). The exhibition schedule includes a First Friday Preview on October 2nd with live music, Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on October 3rd, and special events including a concert, films, performances, and Meet the Artist events. Accepted work must be hand-delivered September 29-30 (noon-4pm) or October 1st (9am-noon), or shipped to arrive by October 1st. Non-sold artwork must be picked up October 25th (4-6pm) or October 26th (9am-2pm).
