Arts Elevated at RST 2021-2022

The Rochester International Airport and the Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust are partnering on "Arts Elevated at RST," a program to provide an enhanced airport experience and showcase Minnesota artists. The program aims to lift spirits and provide comfort and care to customers through dynamic visual experiences that enhance sense of place and connection to the local community. Arts Elevated will showcase artists within the main terminal of Rochester International Airport, which accommodates over 370,000 passengers annually and is served daily by United Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Airlines, with Sun Country Airlines providing service beginning February 2022.

This exhibition is open to all Minnesota artists with no entry application fee. Artists may submit up to 3 original 2D artworks of any media in high-resolution JPEG format. Each submission will be juried independently. Works may not exceed 48" tall and 48" wide and must be professionally presented and ready for secure installation. Framed pieces must be equipped with stretched wire; gallery wrap finished edges are acceptable. Artwork will be displayed for nine months. If sold during that time, Rochester International Airport will receive a 20% commission. Artists must sign a consignment agreement and are responsible for delivering and picking up artwork at the airport. Submissions must include title, artist name, medium, dimensions, and price. Subject matter is open, though survey data indicates preference for local and Minnesota content.

Entry deadline: August 20, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jurying and artist notification will be completed the week of August 23, 2021. Artists must deliver artwork between August 30-September 10, 2021.
